PBA is joining the National Association of Home Builders in celebrating Professional Women in Building (PWB) Week! All week long, our communications will aim to drive awareness of the vast contributions women have made and continue to make every day in the residential construction industry.
Chair of Pennsylvania’s PWB Council, Cathy Sloan of the HBA of Berks County, says that this week provides a platform to demonstrate the important roles women play in our association. “We are a big part of the work force today in this industry,” she says. “We need to team up and do what we do best - helping our local associations, raising money for different charities in the community and getting involved.”
Another goal of our state PWB Council is to grow association membership by fostering community relationships and networking at events. There are many opportunities hosted by local associations and their PWB chapters throughout the year including Home Shows and Parade of Homes events, membership mixers and fundraisers. Sloan encourages all PBA members to attend these events whenever possible and help spread the word about the benefits of membership. Contact your local association to find out what’s happening in your area.
Sloan says several PWB members are participating this week in their HBA Restoring Hope project this week. The project aims to construct solutions to address unique challenges of deserving people in Berks County. More information is available here - http://hbarestoringhope.org/
